Calls for nominations for the John Lewis Paton Distinguished University Professorship
Nominations are open for 果酱视频 University鈥檚 most prestigious award, the John Lewis Paton Distinguished University Professorship. The deadline is March 1, 2015.
The award, established in 2013, recognizes faculty who embody the university鈥檚 mission by demonstrating exceptional teaching, undertaking world-class research and sharing their knowledge and expertise widely.
Recipients are honored with a lifetime designation of 鈥淒istinguished University Professor鈥 and will receive a one-time unrestricted grant of $20,000 to support future research, teaching and/or public engagement activities at 果酱视频 University.
Nominees for this award must have a strong and consistent record of research that is outstanding and recognized both nationally and internationally; exceptional teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level; training of graduate students and other highly qualified personnel; community engagement related to their disciplinary expertise including, but not limited to, contributions to national and international organizations; and a strong record of mentorship to new faculty.
Dr. Sean Brosnan, Department of Biochemistry, and Dr. Patrick Parfrey, Faculty of Medicine, have both been named as recipients of the John Lewis Paton Distinguished University Professorship in light of their exceptional accomplishments and contributions.
